James Monroe Memorial Foundation Plans 265th Monroe Birthday

James Monroe, Virginian, patriot and fifth President of the United States will be honored on his 265th birthday by members and friends of the James Monroe Memorial Foundation both at the birthplace in Westmoreland County and Hollywood Cemetery. Details can be found on the foundation’s website.
The ceremonies are open to the public and will include representatives of many historical and lineage organizations as well as officials of the Foundation and Commonwealth of Virginia. The Westmoreland event will be held on April 22 starting at 11:00 a.m. and the Hollywood event will be held April 28, also starting at 11:00 a.m. The Society of Colonial Wars in the Commonwealth of Virginia makes annual grants to the Foundation.
