Warriors and Guests Receive Military Historian Craig Chapman

Fifty-nine Warriors and guests enjoyed a talk by author Craig Chapmanat the Society’s Spring Court on Thursday, the fourth of May at The Country Club of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Craig S. Chapman, historian and authorCraig Chapman spoke on his recent book, Disaster on the Spanish Main, about the doomed British expedition to conquer the West Indies with troops from the American colonies, is a fascinating look at a long-forgotten part of our history. Including Colonial vounteers and militia commanders, the War of Jenkins’ Ear was the first instance of American soldiers fighting on foreign soil.

Governor Edward Dana Mitchell presided and in the opening segment of the meeting introduced the new Warriors since the Fall Court: Tim Hennessey, Channing Joseph Martin, Casper Lester Sigmon II, Alexander Randall Thorup, and Taylor F. Turner IV. Society rosettes were presented to David Gilkeson and Alexander Randall Thorup. Photos of the event are below.
