Annual Wreath-laying at President Monroe’s Tomb Included Many Warriors

David Martin Trebing represented the General Society of Colonial Wars at the April 28th 266th birthday celebration of President James Monroe in Richmond, VA. It was held at the historic Hollywood Cemetery and also attended by former Virginia Governor Peter E. Broadbent, Jr., vice-chair of the James Monroe Memorial Foundation, and council members David Southworth (representing the Society of the Cincinnati) and Tim Fenton (representing the Virginia Mayflower Society). Next year the Hollywood Cemetery ceremony will be at 11am on Monday, April 28, again followed by a lunch reception at the Taylor House, and all Warriors and spouses are invited to the ceremony and lunch reception.
