Spring Court Featured G. Scott Walker on Bacon’s Rebellion

The 2024 Spring Court for the Society in Virginia was held April 18 at the Country Club of Virginia

Our guest speaker G. Scott Walker delivered a stimulating presentation on the origins and intentions of Bacon’s Rebellion. As Walker explained, this was not so much an action against the English crown as a reaction to contemporary issues that were going unaddressed by the Virginia Colony Governor at the time, Sir William Berkeley. Read Scott’s recap here.

Historian, educator and business owner Scott Walker has been a resident of Fredericksburg for over 50 years. He has degrees in history and education from the University of Virginia. Through his Hallowed Ground Tours that he started after retiring from his career in education, he is recognized as a trained and knowledgeable historian, lecturer, preservationist, and tour guide.

The pre-dinner reception was held at 6:00 p.m. A gallery of photos form the event is below.
