Virginia Warriors Attend General Society Savannah Meeting

The 113th General Council of our Society was held in Savannah May 2-5, 2024. After meetings of the Executive Committee and Deputy Governors General, a bus took the attending Warriors and ladies to the Savannah Yacht Club for the opening reception.

The General Council meetings were held on the mornings of Friday and Saturday in the Hyatt Regency ballroom after generous breakfast buffets. Reports from officers and major committees were presented along with reports from the state societies.

Trolley cars took Warriors to the Oglethorpe Club for a Friday luncheon and then to the Chatham Club for a midday meal on Saturday. Tours and lunches were provided for accompanying ladies. Those assembled were bussed out to Beaulieu plantation for a barbeque on Friday evening.

Saturday night found everyone attending the traditional formal dinner and dance at the unique Hyatt Harborside Ballroom. (The General Society has not, as yet, been able to provide a group photo of our Virginia contingent.)

Our Virginia Society is far from the most numerous but had the second largest group attending the General Council. Those Virginia Warriors and accompanying ladies included:
Tom & Laurie Aldinger, Ben & Nancy Emerson, David & Lynda Gilkeson, Charlie & Leigh Grant, Bolling & Lauren Knowles, Peter & Brantley Knowles, Channing & Blair Martin, Ed & Katherine Mitchell, Blair & Darcie Nelsen, Mike & Anne Gwynn Sivy, and Bill Nash.
