Officers and Members of Council Elected at Fall Court
Blair Hearn Nelsen was elected Governor of the Society of Colonial Wars in the Commonwealth of Virginia at the business meeting of the group held during the 2024 Fall Court, nominations chair Benjamin William Emerson reports.
In other new officer candidates, Channing Moore Hall was elected Deputy Governor (and remains Historian), William Ashley Nash II was elected Secretary, James Franklin Russell II was elected Lieutenant Governor (and remains Treasurer), John Moncure Daniel III, MD, was elected Assistant Treasurer (and remains Surgeon). Gentlemen of the Council in the Class of 2027 elected this week were Grayson Albert Harding, Thomas Gough Vance and Albert Stuart Bowling Knowles.
The meeting also approved the creation of a new officer position, Assistant Treasurer, and the establishment of a permanent Education Committee when members voted affirmatively to changes in the Society Bylaws.
Also at the Fall Court, the Virginia Society welcomed six new Warriors to its ranks: William Wymond Cabell II, Charles Melbern Dunn III, John Blanton Farmer, Charles Lindstrom Grant, Gary Harlan Roseman Jr., and Philip Carter Strother.
