On Monday, April 25, at 11:00 a.m. members of the James Monroe Memorial Foundation will hold the group’s annual ceremony recognizing the birthday of this leading Virginia patriot, one of the nation’s Founding Fathers and fifth president of the country. The ceremony is free and open to the public. After the event, a lunch reception will be held at the Taylor House, 2325 Monument Avenue.
In the fall on October 5 at 2:00 p.m., the Foundation will hold its 267th Anniversary ceremonies at the James Monroe Birthplace in Westmoreland County. See www.monroefoundation.org for the Birthplace location at 4460 James Monroe Highway (State Rt. 205) just outside of Colonial Beach.
