One of the most important ways we support our mission is through grants to organizations which serve to preserve and promote our Nation’s colonial heritage. Some of the historical programs we have recently supported are:

    • Historic Christ Church Foundation: our funding supports the renovation and preservation of the church’s entablature. Likely the finest of its type from colonial Virginia, the Ionic entablature is threatened by flaking paint, natural weathering, and the buildup of surface dirt, mold, and cobwebs; the woodwork is in dire need of conservation.

    • St John’s Church Foundation: our grant provides free and low cost educational experiences, such as Liberty or Death reenactments, lectures, and living history programs that bring early American history to life. Additionally, this program provides free, historical and SOL-based lessons to elementary and middle school students of Richmond public schools.

    • University of Mary Washington archeology scholarships: our grant supported four students in field archeological research of a Bacon’s Rebellion related site at Fone’s Cliffs in Richmond County. These students are now pursuing degrees in historic preservation. The lead archeologist, Dr Julia King, was our speaker at the 2025 Spring Court.

    • Jamestown Rediscovery: our support has been vital to the ongoing archaeological investigation of Historic Jamestown and the identification and preservation of the graves of early settlers. Our support has been recognized on site with a detailed explanation of the project.

    • The Library of Virginia: our contribution supports efforts to conserve and digitize four volumes of the Dunmore’s War Public Service Claims from 1775.

    • The Virginia Museum of History and Culture: our contribution helps to fund the ongoing exhibition Give Me Liberty: Virginia & The Forging of a Nation, part of the Virginia 250 commemoration.

    • Russell Cecil Scott Scholarship at William and Mary: named in memory of our own past governor, this $5000 scholarship is awarded annually to a graduate student in the History Department at the College of William and Mary, who is pursuing colonial studies.

All these activities and awards are supported by the generous support of our Warriors. Members may contribute by  logging into the Warrior section.
